Portobello-RMF specialises in the mechanical design, thermal design, and fabrication of process plant equipment. This specialism extends to shell and tube heat exchangers, air coolers, pressure vessels, columns, tanks, reactors, and other process plant equipment across a wide range of materials and in accordance with recognised International Design Codes. Portobello–RMF is also one of the few companies in the UK approved to Lloyds Rules and Regulations for the Construction and Classification of Submersibles and Diving System, Class 1. 

Portobello-RMF adheres to strict regulations ensuring that all fabricated equipment is manufactured in a safe environment, and which guarantees a high-quality product. The vast majority of Process Equipment designed and manufactured by Portobello-RMF is produced under the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations 2016 (PESR 2016) or European pressure Equipment Directive (PED), which in turn requires the equipment to carry the UKCA Mark for items destined for service within the UK and the CE Mark for items destined for service within the European Union. Additionally, Portobello-RMF has experience across all risk categories and inspection modules.
